While the Clairefontaine logo and 'Flying Spirit' lettering feature on the front, the back depicts one of five delightfully old-fashioned drawings and a bit of advice: a butterfly ('free yourself'); an aeroplane ('live, learn, evolve'); a balloon-driven flying machine ('make it happen'); a dandelion clock ('it's always now'); or a feather ('be inspired'). The design will be picked at random.

Design on fold-in part of cover tells us that Clairefontaine are the only European stationery manufacturer still producing their own paper, so they can guarantee its quality and smoothness.
